Infection Control for COVID-19

We are still here providing dependable periodontal care to our patients during the pandemic.

Nowadays, we are all hyper-focused on our health. Of course, while we all need to socially distance and take safety precautions to protect against COVID-19, our Scottsdale, AZ, periodontist Dr. Jason Zuch also wants patients to be able to get the treatments and periodontal consultations they need during this time. Here’s what you can do to protect your periodontal health right now and ways that we are keeping you safe when you walk through our doors.

How to Protect Your Periodontal Health

Here’s what you can do right now to keep your gums healthy,

  • Flossing every day, preferably at nighttime right before bed
  • Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
  • Using a special periodontist-formulated oral rinse to support healthy gums
  • Eating a healthy diet that is low in starches and sugar
  • Quitting smoking
  • Limiting alcohol consumption
  • Twice a year visits for routine checkups

If you notice tender, swollen or receding gums, it’s important that you don’t ignore this problem. We know that dealing with symptoms of gum disease right now is not convenient, but we are taking every precaution possible to ensure that our patients still get the care they need at our practice while still doing our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

What We are Doing to Help

Our main goal is to protect our patients right now to make sure that they continue to get the periodontal consultations and care they need at our Scottsdale, AZ, practice. Here are some of the policies that we have put in place,

  • Masks and gloves are worn by everyone at our office, from staff to our periodontist, Dr. Zuch. We also expect all patients to wear masks when coming into the office.
  • If you are sick, it’s important that you don’t come into our office. Please call to reschedule your appointment.
  • All patients will need to use an antibacterial and antiviral mouthwash once they arrive.
  • To minimize exposure with other patients, you may stay in your car upon arrival and give us a call. We may have you wait in your car until we have a room available for you.
  • Our entire office, from the doorknobs to the bathroom faucets, are disinfected and cleaned regularly throughout the day.
  • All patients must use the hand sanitizer provided to them upon arrival.

Do you need to schedule a periodontal consultation with our Scottsdale, AZ, periodontist? If so, don’t hesitate to call Zuch Periodontics & Dental Implants at (602) 889-8666. We would be happy to discuss the many ways we are keeping you safe when you walk through our office for treatment.
